Churches Accepting Gays and Lesbians?

I found St Cuthbert Episcopal Church's website and this is a direct quote:

St.Cuthbert's LGBT Ministry:

St. Cuthbert's has had a long history of being open and accepting of lesbian/gay/bi-sexual/ transgendered people. At present, at least a third of the congregation is LGBT. A number of our parishioners are members of the Lavender Seniors of the East Bay.On October 8, 2006, St. Cuthbert’s celebrated the first National Coming Out Day Service in the Diocese of California. It was a grand day, featuring two choirs: the Oakland East-Bay Gay Men’s Chorus and the San Jose Rainbow Women’s Chorus.

This is disgusting! I can't believe any organization could call themselves a church and claim to follow Jesus while openly allowing and promoting perversions such as these! I wonder if they've ever read Romans chapter 1 in a church service (I doubt it, because all the twinkies in the crowd would flip their wrists and sashay out the back door). It's too bad they aren't in San Diego County right about now (did someone say Sodom?). If anyone feels like informing them about what the Bible says about their sin, you can contact them at: (510) 635-4949 or at: StCuddy@aol.com.

It's too bad that name calling, hateful people don't get in to heaven. I suppose all of the "twinkies" will be happy to see you in hell. It's ok though, you're making your master satan very happy by wishing the churchgoers were dying in the horrible fires.

Wow... Bro. David...you have some hateful commenter that is attacking you. Sounds to me like they need to look in the mirror of God's Word and see where they stand with Him and where they will spend eternity. Good post!! Keep standing tall against this wickedness!!

Actually Julie, I have a wonderful walk with the Lord and I'm pretty sure I know where I'm going to spend eternity. However, I'm pretty sure Jesus never intended us to namecall and wish people dead. David isn't "standing tall against wickedness", he's contributing to it.

Anonymous,

You're right, I need to be more Christ like. From now on I'll just call Sodomites "serpents and a generation of vipers". I'm pretty sure that when Jesus was name-calling in Matt 23:33, he wasn't contributing to wickedness. And FYI, David prayed for the destruction of his enemies hundreds of times in the Psalms. Since the sodomites are destroying our society with their immorality and lewd behavior (I've been to the "gay pride parades" and seen the public nudity and sin) they have made themselves the enemies of God. Also, if you think name calling will send a born again Christian to hell, I suggest trying the King James Bible because yours obviously is perverted.

Anonymous,

I deleted your last comment because you used profanity on my blog. That is unforgivable. Because of you, I guess I'm going to have to start moderating comments. It's people like you who ruin a good thing.

Anyway...I've taken debate, critical thinking, and all the other trash that is shoveled in college, and I'm aware of ad hominem attacks. Calling you a bitter liberal idiot was intentional and it looks like you proved my point. Thanks!

Does everybody who belongs to your religion think like you? If so, I will be praying that God delivers you and your children from the brainwashing cult you have sadly been influenced by.

Anyway, even if homosexuals are sinners, what is so wrong with a church preaching to them? Did Jesus turn away sinners? Unless I'm mistaken and you are the one sinless person I have ever come in contact with, everyone I know is a sinner. Should churches just not accept anyone who has sinned? Is that what you are implying?

David said...

The answer is no, not everyone that belongs to my religion thinks like me, but we are working on them.

Truthfully though, I'm glad you have brought up this point about accepting sinners. Certainly I'm not perfect and would never claim to be. I also don't believe in a church turning away sinners and would be all for a LGBT ministry if the idea was to reach them for Christ and help rescue them from the clutches of their sin. This church however claims to have parishioners that practice this lifestyle, and is proud of it. They go so far as to promote this perversion by bringing in Gay and Lesbian singing groups! Definitely we should reach them for Christ, but with the goal of helping them get free of their sin, not feel more comfortable in it.

I must insist you stop attempting ti vilate human rights. see UDHR article 16

Religion is constructed by man, stop believing in fairy tales and learn to be more tolerant. All religion does is instigate fights and cause problems. It is a brilliant way for intelligent people to control large, unintelligent masses. Come back to reality and believe in systems that work. Like science.

My name is Anon(ymous),

I must insist that you learn to spell. I actually thought you were writing Latin, so I googled the phrase ti vilate. Google figured out that you are just dumb and suggested that I try "to violate". Thank goodness Google understands how to speak "idiot".

Anonymous,

You're right in stating that religion causes fights. I follow God, not religion, and He says Sodomy is sin. God hates it so much that he incinerated an entire city that was full of Sodomites. God doesn't hate the Sodomite, but rather the sin they commit. I will be tolerant of Sin when God is.

Also, please do not leave profanity on this blog. It's the best way to ensure your comment is deleted and won't be read by anyone. If you want to cuss at me, email me.

Listen you should be truly disgusted with yourself. you are a bigatist. you attack people who you don't know for something that they chose for themselves. it is like you trying to talk about your religion and people getting mad at you for your beliefs. don't judge what you don't understand.

THERE IS NO GOD!!!!!!!!!

David said...

I don't attack people, I attack the sin that they choose to immerse themselves in. If that makes me a "bigatist" (your word, not mine), then I guess I'm proud to be one since Jesus did the same thing. Interestingly, people like you nailed Him to a cross for what He preached.

OK, let me brake this to you, but no normal god would ever make a sin something a person was born with, and considering that Jesus was gay/queer, that is definitely impossible. THis proves three things: God doesn't exist, the church, Jesus, the bible, and all that shit is just a way to brainwash innocent rednecks(such as yourself), and you're a homphobic motherfucker..
Oh, and GOD IS DEAD... and no one's going to save you..

will you listen to yourselves?!?! all of you are talking like a couple of immature highschool students! and i would know, i am in highschool! i do not believe in homosexuality, but i ALSO know that while God does not accept the sin, he CERTAINLY eccepts the person. now i am not saying you ever said he did not accept the person, but why dont you look at the impression you are giving as a rep for Christ! and you wonder why we have such a hard time reaching others for Christ! its because people such as yourself say things like, "I'll just call Sodomites serpents and a generation of vipers." now im NOT saying that LGBT are not sinning, but i also know that God said in James 2:10 "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." so when each of us sin, it is no better than when a gay person does! one persons sin might be lying and for another person, their sin might be homosexuality...guess what, GOD LOVES EVERYONE EQUALLY! and you can not tell me that God would act the way you are acting "david" towards a gay person. he would tell them they are wrong, and show them that His love for them is unending. so dont you think that you should be acting as Christ would? im not saying you might not act like that in person, but just think about the impression you are giving to those who might be looking for some answers...do you think they will come to you for help? just think acout it......
